Justin Jones Landscapes & Gardens restored this overgrown garden to its former glory. The whole garden was transformed for the client in Monmouth. We created a large paved area including an oak pergola to accommodate a seating area, and flower beds suitable for small ornamental tree species. The paved area then drops down a set of stairs constructed from sleepers, flanked by two large banked planting beds. The lower portion was set to lawn. A decorative pond was sunk into the paved area, and the entrance was finished with traditional palisade fencing and a new five bar gate. In total, over 80 tonnes of waste was removed from this garden.

A Veritable Small Holding
Space to roam freely
Justin Jones Landscapes & Gardens were commissioned to restore this garden for a client starting early retirement. The scope of the project was too large to contemplate for this keen gardener, so we stepped in to do the major work and leave him with a manageable garden he can enjoy working on. The garden design includes several seating areas and vantage points to enjoy the wonderful view of the Monmouthshire countryside. There are raised planters on the lower level for growing vegetables, and space for his chickens to range freely around the paved areas, with protection for young plants around the beds that were dug into the original hardcore of the upper area. Some of these planting pits are large enough to accommodate mature trees, and took a lot of excavation to accomplish.
The client was incredibly happy with his finished garden, and at a follow up visit to check on the garden, he had clearly been busy in the garden and was very happy with its manageability.
